Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain – The Fort Pienc building, also known as Isla Fort Pienc, will serve as the headquarters for the Eixample District and will host the official welcome ceremony for Barcelona’s designation as the World Capital of Architecture 2026. The event will feature a captivating vertical dance performance titled ‘Where I look at you and see myself’ by Compañía Sacude.

‘Where I look at you and see myself’: A Vertical Dance Spectacle

The performance, scheduled for Friday, February 6th, will showcase two female figures embodying the beauty and power of water throughout its various stages in the water cycle, highlighting its essential role for life. The show will depict falling drops, their creation, and the continuous flow of a river in motion.

Compañía Sacude, a Barcelona-based collective specializing in vertical and aerial dances, was founded in 2006 by Samuel Delgado. The company is renowned for its innovative approach, blending dance, theater, circus, music, audiovisuals, and poetry with cutting-edge technology. Their performances are often staged on vertical surfaces such as building facades or pipes, creating visually stunning and impactful experiences.

Compañía Sacude: A Legacy of Innovation

With a distinguished career, Compañía Sacude has collaborated with renowned groups like Fura dels Baus and participated in major international events, including world championships in swimming, basketball, and climbing. Their previous works, such as ‘EUFORIA’, demonstrate their commitment to originality, safety, and technical excellence, delivering shows that combine elegance, energy, and surprise.

Event Details and Schedule

The vertical dance spectacle will take place on the facade of the Fort Pienc center on February 6th, 2026. There will be three scheduled performances:

  • 6:00 PM
  • 7:15 PM
  • 8:30 PM
