For those seeking a more energetic experience, the prestigious Yingge Youth Company will bring the rhythm of a true Chinese warrior dance to Saturday, February 21st. This tradition, with over 300 years of history, is part of China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. The dance carries significant symbolic meaning: participating in the Yingge dance is believed to attract good fortune and prosperity.
The 26 performers embody legendary heroes inspired by ancient Chinese classical novels. Batons, gongs, and drums accompany their martial arts-like choreographed movements, alongside theatrical and musical elements. The spectacle will take place in Pradolongo Park and is free and open to all audiences.
3. China in the Heart of Madrid: The Chinese Temple Fair
The Chinese Temple Fair is an essential cultural event, with Plaza de España as its main stage. This location will be filled with energy, dynamism, and joy, celebrating the Year of the Horse, an animal associated with travel, self-improvement, and prosperity.
