Italian fashion brand Terranova is significantly expanding its presence in Madrid with the upcoming opening of its largest store in Spain. The new establishment will be located in the Madrid Sur shopping center in Vallecas, a strategic move facilitated by Young Retail, Terranova’s key partner for expansion in the Spanish market.
Terranova’s Ambitious Expansion in Madrid
This new store marks Terranova’s entry into the heart of Madrid and is poised to become the brand’s largest retail space in Spain. The Community of Madrid is thus solidified as a primary hub for Terranova’s growth within the country.
Julio Rey Albero, co-founder of the Young Retail Group, emphasized the brand’s potential: “Terranova is an international brand with a very solid identity and enormous growth potential in Spain. At Young Retail, we are committed to strong brands with clear positioning and long-term prospects, and we work to develop them with a structured and ambitious expansion strategy. The opening of Madrid Sur is a milestone within a very relevant growth plan that we are executing in the coming years.”
Store Details and Investment
The new store, situated on the first floor of the Madrid Sur shopping center, will boast a total area of 1,300 square meters, with approximately 1,000 square meters dedicated to sales. It will feature the brand’s full range, including Woman, Man, Kids, and Underwear collections.
Young Retail has invested over one million euros in this project, reaffirming its commitment to large-format stores in strategically important locations. This opening is also part of a broader renovation and repositioning effort at the Madrid Sur shopping center, which is actively incorporating new operators.
Young Retail’s Broader Expansion Strategy
Prior to this, Young Retail had already opened four other Terranova stores in Spain, located in Torrejón de Ardoz, Pinto, Alcorcón, and Ávila in December 2025. These openings underscore the group’s strategy to enhance its presence in Madrid and the central region of Spain.
Looking ahead to 2026, Young Retail plans to open an additional six Terranova stores, in addition to the Madrid Sur location. The group also intends to inaugurate five other establishments for different brands within its portfolio and develop new strategic lines within its retail ecosystem. The expansion will continue to focus on strengthening its presence in Madrid and its central area, as well as entering key new provinces such as Barcelona, Seville, and Malaga.
The Riviera 2.0 Concept
The new Terranova store will adopt the innovative Riviera 2.0 concept, which represents the brand’s most interactive and immersive format. This design aims to bring the aesthetic and emotional essence of the Rimini Riviera, Terranova’s source of inspiration, directly into the sales area.
The design features natural materials, inviting lighting, and advanced digital technology, including immersive LED screens. The goal is to create a dynamic environment that meets the brand’s international standards. The warm and bright ambiance will also reinforce Terranova’s positioning as a youthful, accessible, and urban brand.
A distinctive feature of the new store will be a dedicated training space. This area will be used for onboarding and developing teams for the new openings that Young Retail plans across Spain in the coming months. This strategic area will be crucial for standardizing operational processes and ensuring the correct implementation of the store model in all new establishments.
The opening of Terranova’s largest store in Spain is a significant event for both the brand and the Madrid retail landscape, signaling continued growth and investment in the region’s commercial sector.
