RFEF Confirms Operational Details for Copa del Rey Mapfre Final with Atlético Madrid and Real Sociedad

Madrid, March 11, 2026 – The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has announced the finalized operational details for the Copa del Rey Mapfre final, which will see Club Atlético de Madrid face Real Sociedad de Fútbol. A crucial meeting was held yesterday, Tuesday, March 10th, at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, attended by delegations from both clubs and RFEF officials.

The highly anticipated final is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th, at 9:00 PM (CET) at the La Cartuja stadium in Seville. The RFEF has confirmed that over 52,000 tickets, representing approximately 80% of the stadium’s capacity, will be allocated to the two finalist clubs.

Ticket Allocation and Fan Zones

During the operational meeting, RFEF President Rafael Louzán, who had a cordial preliminary meeting with Miguel Ángel Gil, CEO of Atlético de Madrid, and Jokin Aperribay, President of Real Sociedad, emphasized the federation’s commitment to ensuring a memorable final. “We will provide everything necessary to experience the final we all want. We are starting here the path that will lead us to the grand final on April 18th in Seville,” stated Louzán.

Each finalist club will receive 25,680 tickets from the general seating areas. In addition to these, tickets from other categories, including VIP access and a quota for individuals with functional diversity in wheelchairs and their companions, will also be distributed. The only official channels for ticket sales will be those established by the two participating clubs.

Pre-match festivities for fans will include dedicated fan zones in Seville. Atlético de Madrid supporters will gather at the Las Moreras parking area, adjacent to Alamillo Park. Real Sociedad fans will have their fan zone on Avenida de Carlos III, next to the La Cartuja train stop.

Match Details and Broadcast Information

As the club with an earlier founding date, Club Atlético de Madrid will act as the home team, with Real Sociedad de Fútbol designated as the away team. This will be the second time in history that these two teams contest a final, with their only previous encounter dating back to June 1987 at La Romareda stadium in Zaragoza.

The final will be broadcast live across Spain, ensuring that all football enthusiasts can follow the action. Viewers can tune in to La1, Movistar Plus+, ETB, and TV3 for live coverage.

Future Finals and Regional Impact

In related news, the RFEF recently announced that La Cartuja stadium in Seville will host the next three Copa del Rey Mapfre finals in 2026, 2027, and 2028. This decision was made public by RFEF President Rafael Louzán, alongside Juanma Moreno, President of the Junta de Andalucía, and José Luis Sanz, Mayor of Seville, highlighting the region’s commitment to hosting major sporting events.

The RFEF continues its efforts to promote and support football at all levels, as evidenced by President Louzán’s recent meeting in Jeddah with representatives of non-professional clubs, emphasizing the importance of working together for the future of Spanish football.
