Madrid, March 22, 2026 – The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has approved, in its meeting this week, a subsidy line for 2026 to non-profit entities for the maintenance of places in centers and services for adults with disabilities and for early care treatment centers for children up to six years old. The regional Executive will allocate a total of 1.1 million euros to these aids in 2026. In last year’s call, 35 of these organizations were subsidized, assisting a total of 521 people.
Support for Adults with Disabilities and Early Childhood Care
The approved funds will cover assistance for non-dependent adults with disabilities, aged between 18 and 65, with which expenses related to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, language therapy, and psychological treatment will be defrayed. It will also support the maintenance of places in residences, day centers, and occupational centers.
For children up to six years old, the measure will support expenses derived from services such as speech therapy, physiotherapy, stimulation, and psychomotor skills. Furthermore, the regional government has increased the number of places dedicated to early care for children with special, temporary or permanent needs by 85% during this legislature, going from 3,800 to more than 7,000 currently, and plans to continue expanding them throughout this year.
Streamlining Administrative Procedures for Families
Additionally, at the end of last year, the Community of Madrid approved a new decree that will eliminate administrative burdens and procedures for families in this area, improve the quality of services, prioritize freedom of choice, and facilitate grouping all evaluations of children under 6 years of age into a single visit.
This initiative falls under the purview of the Ministry of Family, Youth and Social Policy, emphasizing early care and attention to people with disabilities. The regional government continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and ensuring access to essential services.
The allocation of these funds underscores the Community of Madrid’s ongoing efforts to enhance social welfare and provide comprehensive support to its citizens, particularly those with disabilities and young children requiring specialized care.
