Barcelona, December 12, 2025 – Palauet Casades yesterday hosted the awards ceremony for the Extraordinary Future Lawyers of Barcelona Award. This accolade, now in its sixth edition, saw the participation of students from various Barcelona universities’ Master’s Degree in Access to the Legal Profession and Procuratorship.
Recognizing Excellence in Law
The Award, promoted by the Illustrious College of the Bar Association of Barcelona (ICAB), the Young Lawyers Group of Barcelona (GAJ Barcelona), and Alter Mutua de los Abogados y Abogadas, aims to recognize the effort, vocation, and excellence of law students, welcoming them into the legal institutions. This initiative underscores the commitment of these organizations to nurturing young legal talent in Barcelona.
Carme Adell, Vice President of Alter Mutua, expressed gratitude for the continuous support from ICAB and GAJ in growing the Award since its inception. She also extended thanks to the universities for their cooperation, which has significantly increased the number of participating students. Adell highlighted the exceptional quality of the submitted works and encouraged the new lawyers to actively engage with ICAB, GAJ, and Alter Mutua, emphasizing that “these are the institutions of the Barcelona legal profession that work for the recognition of the profession and the defense of the collective’s interests.”
Benefits for Award Winners
The Extraordinary Future Lawyers of Barcelona Award includes the registration fees and membership dues for ICAB and Alter Mutua for the first year, along with a financial prize. Finalists receive a 50% subsidy on their registration and mutual society membership fees for their first year.
The collaborative effort behind this award reflects a strong dedication to fostering the next generation of legal professionals in Catalonia, ensuring they are well-integrated into the professional community and supported in their early careers.
