Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell Kicks Off with Record 40 Sponsors and €2.9 Million Prize Money
Barcelona, April 13th – The clay courts of the Reial Club de Tennis Barcelona (RCTB) are set to host the 73rd edition of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, running from Monday, April 13th, to Sunday, April 19th. This year’s tournament boasts a record 40 sponsors, an increase of two from the previous edition, and a total prize fund of €2.9 million.
The event, a prestigious ATP 500 tennis tournament, sees the renewal of Banco Sabadell’s main sponsorship until 2028, marking two decades of collaboration since 2008. The tournament is a key fixture in the ATP tour, attracting top talent including world number one Carlos Alcaraz, Lorenzo Musetti, Félix Auger-Aliassime, and Alex de Miñaur.
Five New Sponsors Join the Ranks
This year’s edition welcomes five new sponsors: energy company Factor Energía, home appliance brand Haier, mobile device application Chipr, media outlet Time Out, and private transport company Uber. Their inclusion further diversifies the tournament’s extensive sponsor portfolio.
Beyond the main sponsor, the tournament also receives institutional support from the Generalitat de Catalunya, a partnership that began in 2017 with an annual contribution estimated around €400,000, and the Barcelona City Council, which renewed its sponsorship until 2028. Official media partners include Movistar+, Radio Televisión Española (RTVE), and TV3.
A Broad Spectrum of Corporate Support
Seventeen companies serve as official sponsors, including BW Scores, Clínica Quirón, Dunlop, Emirates, and Isdin. Emirates, a long-standing partner, first signed with the tournament in 2013. Mango, which became the technical sponsor in 2023, has extended its agreement until 2028. Other key sponsors include Eurofirms, Occident, Veolia, Vilarnau, Lexus, Moritz, Melià, Mundo Deportivo, and La Vanguardia.
The ‘other sponsors’ category is equally extensive, featuring fourteen companies spanning various sectors from distribution and catering to public and private services, food, beverages, and automotive. This group includes returning partners such as Bacardi, Hola, Enrique Tomás, Head, Meteo.Cat, Mullor, Seidor, Trablisa, Eurofirms, and Losberger de Boer.
Prize Money and Economic Impact
The total prize money for the 2026 edition is €2.9 million. The singles champion will receive €546,400, while the finalist will take home €291,400. Semifinalists will each earn €151,000. In the doubles category, the winning pair will share €191,260.
The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell has a significant economic impact on the Catalan capital. The 2024 edition generated an estimated €50 million for Barcelona. In parallel, the tournament organizers, Conde de Godó, projected revenues of €15 million, a 9% increase from the previous year.
