Barcelona, Spain – IBTM World, the premier international trade fair for the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, is set to convene the global events community in Barcelona from November 18 to 20, 2025, at Fira de Barcelona. Following the success of its 2024 edition, this year’s event is poised to further solidify IBTM World’s leadership as an indispensable gathering for business events professionals worldwide.
Unprecedented African Representation at IBTM World 2025
The 2025 edition of IBTM World will mark a significant milestone with the largest African presence in over a decade. South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, and Rwanda will participate with expanded stands, showcasing the continent’s growing influence in the global events landscape. They will be joined by the Rainbow Tourism Group from Zimbabwe and a broad spectrum of new and returning partners from across Africa. Notable new entrants include Business Class, a Moroccan DMC, and the Tunisia Convention Bureau, making its first appearance in over ten years with ten partners. The Uganda Convention Bureau also makes a welcome return with ten partners after a year’s absence.
New Exhibitors and Returning Destinations Bolster International Offerings
IBTM World 2025 will welcome a diverse array of new exhibitors, including West Hollywood, the Cayman Islands, and Fiera Milano, alongside European capitals such as Sarajevo and Sofia. Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, is set to return after several years, joined by VisitScotland and Buenos Aires, both rejoining the event’s international roster. Abercrombie & Kent DMC will make its debut, further enhancing the global representation of Destination Management Companies (DMCs) at the fair.
Cruise Tourism and Hospitality Sectors Expand Presence
This year’s event will also highlight the growing importance of cruise tourism within the MICE industry. Norwegian Cruise Line, City Cruises-offering unique experiences on the River Thames-and Century Cruises, specializing in river and coastal cruises in China, Japan, and Vietnam, will all participate for the first time.
Building on its successful launch in 2024, the Hotel Pavilion at IBTM World will expand its footprint, featuring increased participation from international chains and boutique groups. New hotel exhibitors include Wyndham Hotels, Seibu Prince Hotels & Resorts, The Kimberly Hotel, and Impulsive Group. Independent hotels such as The Muse New York, Regnum Carya, The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama, and Viceroy at Ombria Algarve will also return.
Technological Advancements and Enhanced Support for Events
The technology and event services sector will see new participants like Newhotel Software, vFairs, and Cvent, underscoring the continuous digital evolution of the industry. Furthermore, the Meetings & Events Support Association (MESA) will return with a significantly expanded stand, doubling the number of participating suppliers compared to the previous year.
IBTM World 2025 continues to be a vital platform for networking, business development, and showcasing the latest trends and innovations within the global MICE industry.
