Madrid, May 11, 2026 – The Community of Madrid will host Europe’s largest Artificial Intelligence (AI) and entrepreneurship forum, the South Summit Madrid 2026, from June 3 to 5. The event will take place at La Nave in Villaverde, focusing on ‘AI Convergence’ as its central theme, highlighting AI’s role as a primary tool for global transformation.

Rocío Albert, the Regional Minister of Economy, Finance, and Employment, closed the presentation of the 15th edition of this fair, emphasizing that AI “is no longer an expectation but a consolidated present that reconfigures markets and industries with disruptive agility.” Albert noted that the region leads in AI implementation among companies with more than ten employees, with 30.1%, nine points above the national average.

A Global Hub for AI and Investment

More than 600 international speakers, including investors, experts, and academics specializing in various AI derivatives, will participate in the South Summit. This gathering will position Madrid as the global capital of AI, delving into the technology’s profound impact, which currently captures 61% of global venture capital investment.

The event is projected to contribute nearly 42 million euros to Madrid’s economy and create approximately 3,800 jobs. For every euro invested, a return of four is expected, with each visitor generating an average of over 2,000 euros in economic activity.

Madrid’s Commitment to Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The South Summit Madrid 2026 underscores the Community of Madrid’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives. By attracting such a significant event, the region aims to strengthen its position as a leading European hub for technological advancement and economic development.

The forum will provide a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration, bringing together key players from the AI ecosystem. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the latest trends, discuss challenges, and identify new opportunities in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.

Economic Impact and Future Prospects

The substantial economic impact projected from the South Summit highlights the strategic importance of such events for regional growth. The creation of thousands of jobs and the significant financial return per invested euro demonstrate the potential for long-term benefits for the Community of Madrid.

This event is expected to attract a diverse audience, including startups, established companies, investors, researchers, and policymakers, all eager to explore the transformative power of AI. The focus on ‘AI Convergence’ reflects the interdisciplinary nature of AI and its growing integration across various sectors, from healthcare and finance to transportation and education.

The Community of Madrid continues to invest in initiatives that promote technological innovation and entrepreneurship, recognizing these as crucial drivers for sustained economic prosperity and competitiveness on a global scale. The South Summit Madrid 2026 is a testament to this ongoing commitment, promising to be a landmark event for the AI and entrepreneurial communities worldwide.
