Madrid’s Christmas 2025 program is brimming with activities for all ages, transforming iconic locations into festive scenes. From the traditional La Navideña market in Plaza de España to Madrid On Ice at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano and the Navipark theme park in Móstoles, the capital solidifies its position as one of Spain’s most comprehensive Christmas destinations. Traditional markets, concerts, parades, and immersive spaces are also spread throughout various neighborhoods.
The Forest of Wishes 2025: A Free, Immersive Experience
This Christmas, the ‘Forest of Wishes 2025’ is located in Plaza de Pontejos, right in the heart of Madrid. It offers free admission, extended hours, and a sensory experience for the whole family. This edition once again invites visitors to hang their Christmas wishes on trees illuminated with the colors of the Metro de Madrid lines.
What to Expect on Your Visit
The theme of this year’s journey revolves around the three states of water-solid, liquid, and gaseous-with challenges and puzzles to solve as you move through different environments. Friendly ‘magic forest rangers,’ dressed in red capes and hats, guide participants along the route, while jugglers and musicians add a festive touch. Upon entering the enclosure, visitors will find QR codes that activate an augmented reality experience. Through this technology, they can meet the friendly elf Rondel, a virtual character who amusingly guides children, explaining how to participate in the activity and what makes this Christmas forest so special in the heart of Madrid.
In addition to leaving their message for 2026 in one of the paper baubles hanging from the 12 Christmas fir trees-each illuminated with the representative colors of Madrid Metro lines-children can take home a free illustrated manual with puzzles, curiosities, and tips on caring for natural resources. All of this is free of charge, as part of the Christmas program in Sol, organized by the Community of Madrid.
Opening Hours, Location, and Nearby Attractions
The ‘Forest of Wishes 2025′ will be open until January 6, 2026, every day from 10:00 to 22:00, except on December 24, December 31, and January 5, when hours are reduced until 18:00. On Three Kings’ Day, January 6, it will open in the evening, from 16:00 to 22:00. The space will remain closed on December 25 and January 1.
Plaza de Pontejos, just a few steps from Sol station, also hosts the Casita de Pontejos during these dates, a Christmas market with artisan products made by social entities. And in the nearby Real Casa de Correos, you can visit the monumental Nativity Scene of the Community of Madrid, under a starry sky of 60,000 LED lights.
