Nathy Peluso Stages Surprise Concert in Barcelona to Unveil New Cupra Raval

Barcelona, April 10, 2026 – Argentinian-Spanish singer Nathy Peluso made a dramatic entrance at a surprise concert in Barcelona’s Plaça de Catalunya yesterday, driving onto the stage in the new Cupra Raval electric car. The impromptu performance was part of a simultaneous, multi-city marketing campaign by Seat to introduce its latest electric vehicle.

Peluso, 31, announced the concert on her social media channels on Thursday morning, drawing a crowd of mostly young fans to the city center. Many attendees, like 25-year-old Misael, were primarily drawn by the artist and unaware of the event’s promotional nature. “I love Nathy and since I live nearby, I decided to come. But I have no idea what this is all about. What is the Cupra Raval?” he asked, minutes before the show began.

A Strategic Entrance for Seat’s New EV

Despite the audience’s initial lack of awareness, the car’s presence was undeniable. Peluso performed alongside the Cupra Raval, which remained on stage throughout her nearly hour-long set. She showcased songs from her latest EP, Malportada, which features Latin and Caribbean accents, marking a distinct shift from her previous albums.

The Cupra Raval, according to Seat, embodies a rebellious, attractive, and youthful style that aligns with Peluso’s audience. This marketing strategy extended to other European cities, with simultaneous surprise concerts featuring artists such as Guitarrica de la Fuente in Madrid, Disiz in Paris, Kim Petras in Berlin, Chase & Status and Lancey Foux Projekts in Manchester, and Mahmood in Milan.

Seat’s Bet on the Cupra Raval for Profitability

For Seat, the goal of these concerts was to generate buzz and associate the new electric vehicle with a vibrant, young demographic. The company is banking on the Cupra Raval to regain profitability, which has been impacted by geopolitical shifts and rising costs in the automotive industry’s transition to electric vehicles.

The Cupra Raval is Seat’s first 100% electric car, and its production will be entirely based at the Martorell plant, which has undergone a significant investment to adapt to EV manufacturing. This urban vehicle boasts a battery range of 400 to 450 kilometers, depending on the model, and is intended to democratize electric cars for a younger generation, much like the Seat Ibiza did in its time.

Addressing Affordability and Market Challenges

Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni drew parallels to the Ibiza’s historical accessibility during the presentation. However, the current cost of new cars, relative to the cost of living, presents a challenge for young buyers today. The Cupra Raval’s price ranges from 26,000 euros for the basic model to over 30,000 euros for the most complete version. Government subsidies for electric car purchases are expected to help substantially lower the effective price for consumers.

Among the concert attendees were friends visiting from Castellón, who stumbled upon the event. One of them, impressed by the car, remarked, “It’s pretty cool, 26,000 euros for an electric car is very good.”

Simultaneous European Launches and Future Outlook

The coordinated launch across multiple European capitals underscores Seat’s ambition to make a significant impact with the Cupra Raval. The company aims to connect with a broader audience and solidify its position in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market. The success of this marketing initiative and the subsequent sales of the Cupra Raval will be crucial for Seat’s financial recovery and its future in the electric automotive landscape.
