Madrid Accounts for Almost a Quarter of New National Employment

The reduction in unemployment was observed across both genders, with a 3.1% decrease among women and 3.2% among men. All sectors of activity contributed to this positive trend:
- Construction: -12.6%
- Agriculture: -5.4%
- Industry: -2.9%
- Services: -2.1%
Record High for Self-Employed Workers
In addition to these impressive employment figures, the number of self-employed workers in Madrid has also reached an unprecedented high. This is the highest number of self-employed workers recorded since official statistics began.
The Community of Madrid attributes its success to its economic policies, including a focus on low taxes and legal certainty. These measures are designed to attract both national and international investments, fostering a dynamic environment for business and job creation. The region emphasizes that it is not only creating jobs but also ensuring their quality, particularly through the increase in indefinite contracts.
Economic Engine of Spain
The Community of Madrid continues to be a driving force for the Spanish economy and employment, generating quality jobs. Its leadership in indefinite contracts is a direct result of policies such as low taxation and legal stability, which act as magnets for national and international investments. This strategic approach has positioned Madrid as a key player in Spain’s economic landscape.
The positive economic indicators highlight a period of sustained growth and stability for the region, reinforcing its appeal as a hub for both businesses and individuals seeking employment opportunities.
