MIAMI, June 11 – FC Barcelona has officially opened its new central headquarters for the Americas in Miami, marking a significant step in the club’s global expansion strategy. This strategic move centralizes all commercial operations for the continent, bolstered by a $450,000 grant from the Miami City Council.
Miami: The Gateway to the Americas
Bryan Bachner, the club’s General Manager for the region, stated, “We want to build our central headquarters for the Americas here because we feel that Miami is the gateway to our fan base in South America and the United States.” The new office, located in downtown Miami, will manage Barça’s commercial assets, identify new business opportunities, and strengthen the club’s brand among fans, sponsors, and partners in the region.
The versatile space is designed to host various events and will initially employ between 12 and 14 staff members. The Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA), an agency of the City Council, provided the $450,000 grant through its business incentive program. This grant is contingent on the FC Barcelona fulfilling specific commitments over the next three years, including a stable physical presence in the city center, the future opening of a commercial space, and active participation in the local community through public activations and youth initiatives.
Sources from the Miami DDA commented, “The Miami DDA works to ensure that downtown Miami remains competitive as a destination for world-class organizations. The arrival of FC Barcelona will bring long-term economic and cultural benefits to the community.”
Strategic Value and Fan Proximity
Rafael Yuste, Vice President of FC Barcelona, emphasized the strategic importance of this move, stating, “The opening of this new office reinforces FC Barcelona’s presence in one of the most important markets for the club’s international development.” He added, “Our presence in Miami allows us to be closer to the ‘culés’ (Barça fans) who follow our men’s and women’s teams across the American continent, as well as sponsors, commercial partners, and institutions.”
This new opening concludes the chapter of FC Barcelona’s first US headquarters, which operated in New York since 2016 and closed approximately six months ago to concentrate efforts in South Florida.
Focus on Women’s Football and Social Impact
A key focus of the new office will be the oversight of the two Barça Academy Pro centers in the United States, located in Miami and New York. These highly specialized training programs transfer the methodology and playing style of La Masia to the American continent.
Bachner highlighted the unique approach of these centers, stating, “Players receive 360-degree attention in their training. Barça Academy Pro is unique.” He differentiated these directly managed centers from other Barça academies on the continent, which are operated by third parties.
Among the projects with the most potential, according to Bachner, is the creation of a women’s Barça academy, driven by the historical success of the team. “Our women’s Barça team is a dynasty right now. We have just won the UEFA Women’s Champions League, and the last Women’s Ballon d’Or winners have been ours. La Masia trains great players, and perhaps there is an opportunity here to develop that project,” he noted.
The new headquarters will also house the general headquarters of the US Barça Foundation, established in 2024 to use sport as a tool for social inclusion with at-risk minors.
A Momentous Time for Football in the US
Bachner underscored that the arrival in Miami coincides with “an extraordinary moment” for the club and football. “We have a wonderful team that represents us very well, with players like Lamine Yamal who represent everything Barça is,” he said. The executive added that the United States “is moving towards football at an increasingly accelerated pace, with the growth of the MLS,” partly thanks to the arrival of Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.
The opening of the new headquarters takes place just two days before the start of the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be held in venues across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
